Bearing the mark of the Italian porcelain works, Capo di Monte, the characters in these figures are in eighteenth-century dress. The figure on the left features a couple representing marriage or courtship, while the children on the right frolic among grapevines. These are likely Rococo Revival pieces emphasizing the playful, whimsical decor that was popular in the early eighteenth century. The pieces have some chipping and show signs of later touch-ups; the stands are likely later additions.
