Lidded coupe features eagles resting on each handle and a goddess figure on the lid. The gilt bronze coupe is covered in a motif of masks, foliate scrolls, and fleur-de-lis. The inside of the lid is inscribed “1 Janvier 1846, J.A.Y. Mendizabal.” This was likely a presentation piece to a member of the powerful Spanish Mendizabal family.
